Cardinals edge Bobcats to advance to the 13th Region Tournament Semi-finals 59-43

(Corbin, KY) It's night number two of the 13th Region Boys Basketball Tournament. Our matchup will feature the champion out of the 50th District the South Laurel Cardinals verses the runner-up out of the 52nd District the Bell County Bobcats.

South Laurel comes in with a 23-8 record on the season. Bell County comes in with a 26-6 record on the season.

South Laurel was led by Jordan Mabe with 22 points going 3-8 from the field 16-18 from the free throw line, grabbing 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Colton Rawlings with 12 points going 4-8 from the field 4-8 from three, grabbing 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 block and 1 steal. Joshua Steele with 10 points going 2-3 from the field 6-6 from the free throw line, grabbing 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block and 1 steal. Max Fullmer with 6 points going 2-5 from the field 2-2 from the free throw line, grabbing 3 rebounds and 1 steal. Garrison Brown with 3 points going 1-1 from the field 1-1 from three, grabbing 2 rebounds and 1 assist. Brenda Murphy with 2 points going 2-2 from the free throw line. Kaiden McQueen with 2 points going 1-3 from the field, grabbing 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Blaine Baker with 2 points going 1-1 from the field, grabbing 1 rebound.

Bell County was led by Cameron Hall with 11 points going 3-9 from the field 0-3 from three 5-6 from the free throw line, grabbing 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Ethan Buell with 9 points going 4-9 from the field 1-1 from three 0-2 from the free throw line, grabbing 4 rebounds and 2 blocks. Blake Burnett with 8 points going 1-8 from the field 6-6 from the free throw line, grabbing 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and 1 steal. Jaxon Thomas with 7 points going 3-6 from the field and 1-2 from three. Cayden Huff with 5 points going 0-2 from the field 5-6 from the free throw line, grabbing 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block. South Laurel will improve to 24-8 record on the season. Bell County will end there 2024-2025 season with a 26-7 record.

South Laurel will advance to the semi-finals of the 13th Region Tournament against the winner of the Pineville verses Clay County game, game-time is Saturday at 2:30 PM.
