(Corbin, KY) It's the first round of the 13th Region Boys Basketball Tournament. Tonight's matchup will feature the 52nd District champions the Harlan County Black Bears verses the 51st District runners-up the Knox Central Panthers.
Harlan County comes in with a 24-8 record on the season. Knox Central comes in with a 22-7 record on the season.
Harlan County was led by Maddox Huff with 28 points going 7-19 from the field 4-10 from three 10-10 from the free throw line, grabbing 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals. Trenton Cole with 18 points going 5-12 from the field 3-6 from three 5-8 from the free throw line, grabbing 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals. Jaycee Carter with 6 points going 3-5 from the field 0-2 from three, grabbing 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. Reggie Cottrell with 4 points going 2-5 from the field 0-2 from three 0-2 from the free throw line, grabbing a team high 11 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks. Brody Napier with 3 points going 1-4 from the field 1-3 from three, grabbing 2 rebounds and 4 assists. Brennan Blevings with 2 points going 1-1 from the field and 1 block. Cole Cornett grabbing 1 rebound. Brady Smith grabbing 1 rebound and 1 steal.
Knox Central was led by Grayson Barton with 20 points going 8-17 from the field 2-7 from three 2-2 from the free throw line, grabbing 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks. Tydus Summers with 8 points going 2-12 from the field 1-6 from three 3-4 from the free throw line, grabbing 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Nathan Dunn with 6 points going 2-5 from the field 2-4 from the free throw line, grabbing 7 rebounds. Hayden Melton with 5 points going 2-3 from the field 1-1 from the free throw line, grabbing 2 rebounds, 1 block and 3 Steals. Christian Bargo with 3 points going 1-2 from the field 1-1 from three, grabbing 5 rebounds. Austin Bargo with 3 points 1-4 from the field 1-3 from three, grabbing 1 rebound and 1 steal. Harlan County will advance to the semi-finals of the 13th Region Tournament, will wait the winner of the North Laurel vs Corbin, game-time is set for 1:00 PM
