
Cardinals haven’t beat Corbin since 2017 when they got there first win. Now with second win marking back to 2015.
Starting off the first for Corbin with a runner on first and Kade Elam up to bat. Kade Elam blast one close to center field with a home run.
Corbin’s outfield put on the biggest show for Corbin tonight. Dallas Merida (LF), Trey Person (RF), and Noah Cima (CF), really showed off their arms and how powerful they were. Stopping runners at various bases with throws from the fence to home base leaving some runners stranded on third for a little while.
South Laurel’s Keaton Smith was the shoe inn for the Cardinals tonight allowing 6 hits, 4 runs, and 2 strikeouts. Keatons pitching performance for the 5.1 innings he pitched really showed how deep in pitching performance South Laurel really has. Keaton Creech finished the game with no hits and one strikeout.
Austin Byrd the powerhouse on the bases. Stealing bases and getting triples out of simple bunts and overthrowing on first.
Waylon Hensley with some of the best plays on Shortstop tonight stopping balls left and right. He also had one of the best plays of the night diving for a ball behind second and tossing two to get the out.
Kamden Dewees (RF), Austin Byrd (LF), and Reece Noble (CF) all put in a huge performance tonight for the Cardinals in the field. Stopping runners at bases by quick transitions and great reads on the ball.
Will Alsip, Jack Vaughn, Waylon Hensley, Vincent Sizemore and Keaton Smith put on the big show tonight in the batting lineup scoring most of the runs or knocking runners in with sacrifice flys or getting on base themselves.
No matter where you turned tonight you saw a show and great performance from all the players. Corbin and South when you get Trey Smith and Cody Philpot on the field you can always expect the very best out of all the players.
