Rockets edge Lady Jaguars in the Mary Weddle Hines Classic 6-4

(Corbin, KY) It's the third game of the 1st Annual Mary Weddle Hines Classic being held at Corbin High School Softball Complex. Today's game will feature the North Laurel Lady Jaguars verses the Assumption Rockets.

North Laurel comes in with a 11-2 record on the season. Assumption comes in with a 13-2 record on the season.

The Lady Jaguars gets on the board first when Sizemore doubles to right field allowing McClure to score to make it 1-0 North Laurel.

Assumption gets on the board when Sander doubles to center field allowing Wells to score to tie the game up at 1.

Then in the top of the fourth inning Sizemore sends a solo homerun to center field to make the score 2-1 North Laurel. 

Then in the bottom of the fourth inning Ice singles to center field allowing Oaks to score to tie the game up at 2. Then a single by Campisano to center field allowing Ice and Sander to score to make it 4-2 Assumption.

Then in the top of the fifth inning a double by Sizemore to leftfield allowing Sams and Carl both to score to make the game tied at 4.

Then in the bottom of the sixth inning the Rockets Sander hits a two run homer run to center field allowing Ice to score to make the score 6-4 Assumption.

North Laurel will fall to 11-3 record on the season. Assumption will improve to 14-2 record on the season.

North Laurel will be back in action on Monday April 14 as they will host the Clay County Lady Tigers, game-time is set for 6:00 PM. Assumption will be back in action next as they will play Corbin.
