                                    “I believe in you”

Mike Karr the middle school softball coach for South Laurel. Mike coached me my first year ever playing softball, 7th grade year. He coached a lot of players over the years and made such an impact on the players. I was one of the players that he made a big impact on. Minus my mom and dad he was the first to ever believe in me. Throughout my time playing there was a lot of hardship but Mike Karr’s one sentence “I believe in you kid” always stuck. Mike kept up with me through the years and always supported me. From being a little 7th grader that didn’t know anything at all, becoming a Region player, Graduating with class of 24, and now helping him out on the field just a little. He always told me he believed in me when I always thought no one else did. He keeps so many players motivated and wanting to keep playing. Mike is a coach that can’t be beat when it comes to making sure you’re one of the best. From 7th grade to my now adulthood Mike’s words to me from 7th grade still ring true in my head and they keep me going everyday in life. When you have a coach like him on your side you realize how much you wanna work hard for him, play to your best ability and make him proud. With the time and dedication he has put in to not only his kids that played as well, but his girls that have played under him over the years he hasn’t let anyone down because he makes sure everyone feel important and it always stick with you. He always pushed me forward and no matter how hard he pushed me I knew not to quit because I would let him down and he was the one coach I could never let down. I hope every girl that plays under Mike realizes they have a coach that loves them and will become one of their biggest supporters as their life goes on. To listen to him no matter what happens because he will truly bring you to new heights on the softball field and in your personal life you never thought someone could bring you to.
