Jackson County Lady Generals Spring Break Trip Recap

(Fort Walton Beach, FL) The Jackson County Lady Generals Softball Team took spring break and went down South to Florida to play some good competion.

The Schedule for the week was 
March 31 vs Muhlenberg County

April 1 vs Anderson County

April 2 vs Springfield, OH

April 3 vs Casey County

April 4 vs South Laurel

Muhlenberg County

On March 31 Muhlenberg County defeated the Jackson County Lady Generals 14-7

Muhlenberg County scored one in the top of the fourth inning. Then in the bottom of the fourth inning the Lady Generals tie the game up at one but then in the top of the fifth inning Muhlenberg County adds three runs to take a 4-1 lead. Then in the bottom of the sixth inning the Lady Generals tie the game up at 4. In the top of the seventh inning Muhlenberg County adds 10 runs to make it 14-4. Then in the bottom of the seventh inning the Lady Generals add 3 runs but fall short in game number one by the score of 14-7.

Anderson County

On April 1 the Jackson County Lady Generals will be playing the Anderson County Lady Bearcats.

The game would remain scoreless until the bottom of the third inning when the Lady Bearcats score one. Then the Lady Bearcats would add three in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 4-0. Then in the bottom of the fifth inning the Lady Bearcats would score 1 but that would be all they would need.

Springfield, OH

On April 2 the Jackson County Lady Generals would be playing the Springfield (Holland), OH Devils.

Springfield would get on the board first when they would score three runs in the bottom of the third inning, they would also score three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Casey County

On April 3 the Jackson County Lady Generals would be playing the Casey County Lady Rebels.

The game would remain scoreless until the bottom of the third inning when the Casey County Lady Rebels would score three runs to make the score 3-0. Then in the top of the fourth inning to trim the led down to 3-1. Then in the bottom of the fourth inning the Lady Rebels would add a run back to make the score 4-1. In the bottom of the fifth inning they would add two more runs to make the score 6-1. In the sixth inning the Lady Generals would fight back scoring two runs to make the score 6-3 Casey County. Then in the top of the seventh inning the Lady Generals would score two more runs but couldn't tie the game up.

Despite the loss it was a career milestone for the Jackson County Lady Generals senior pitcher Candice Williams she got her 1,000 career strikeouts in the game.

South Laurel

On the final day in Florida, the Jackson County Generals will be playing fellow 13th Region opponent the South Laurel Lady Cardinals.

In the opening inning the Lady Cardinals exploded for 11 runs. Then in the bottom of the first inning the Lady Generals would add back 2 runs. Then in the top of the third inning the Lady Cardinals would add 4 more runs to make the score 15-2 South Laurel. Then in the bottom of the third inning the Lady Generals would score 3 runs to make the score 15-5 South Laurel. The Lady Cardinals would add 3 more runs in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 18-5 South Laurel. That would be all that the Lady Cardinals would need.
