(Middlesboro, KY) It was a heavy weight matchup at Middlesboro High School tonight as the defending 13th Region Champion traveled to Middlesboro to take on the Lady Jackets. What a game it turned out to be.
Lady Jackets got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning on a wild pitch that scored one run.
It didn't take the Lady Cardinals long to take the lead back, in the top of the second inning the Lady Jackets committed an error, and Addison Baker singled, each scoring one run.
Lady Jackets scored in the bottom of the fifth inning after Kolbi Mason doubled, scoring two runs, and Kaylee Lawson grounded out, scoring one run.
Kaylee Lawson earned the win for the Lady Jackets, she allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Audrey Likins took the loss for the Lady Cardinals. She went one and one-third innings, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out two and walking three. Kenna A Lawson began the game for the Lady Jackets. She allowed six hits and four runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking none. Morgan Jackson opened the game for the Lady Cardinals. She gave up four hits and three runs over three and one-third innings, striking out one and walking three.
A Lawson, Lawson, and Raegahan Moyers each collected two hits for the Lady Jackets. Mason led the Lady Jackets with three runs batted in. She went 1-1 on the night. Alexis Middleton had two of the teams six walks in the game.
Baker led the Lady Cardinals with two runs batted in, she went 2-4 on the night. Baker and Kenzie Williams each collected two hits.
