
Jackson County secured a resounding victory in the 13th Region All "A" Championship game, defeating Harlan 10-0.
Jackson County wasted no time asserting their presence on the scoreboard, taking the lead in the bottom of the second inning. Berkli Young kicked off the scoring by tagging up and crossing home plate. Blakelyn Fee then stepped up with a clutch single, driving in two runs, before Baylee Berry delivered a powerful homer to right field, adding two more runs to Jackson County's tally.
As the game progressed, Jackson County's offense continued to showcase its strength. In the fourth inning, Blakelynn Fee hammered a shot to center field, contributing to the team's lead. Kylie Moore followed up with a double, bringing in another run, and a daring steal home added to the scoring frenzy.
With an 8-0 lead heading into the fifth inning, Jackson County showed no signs of slowing down. Josie Starcher's single brought in another run before Aubrey Estridge sealed the deal with a towering home run to center field, adding two more runs to the scoreboard.
Pitcher Candice Williams delivered yet another outstanding performance, living up to her reputation as a force to be reckoned with on the mound. Williams allowed just two hits over the course of the game, keeping Harlan's offense at bay while striking out an impressive nine batters and issuing no walks.
Jackson County improves their record to 13-4 and sets their sights on their next challenge, a matchup against Owsley County on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Harlan will regroup as they prepare to face Middlesboro at home tomorrow.
